Man allegedly raped, murdered by Airbnb hosts in Australia
A 36-year-old man was allegedly murdered by three hosts who lived in the Airbnb he was renting.
Ramis Jonuzi reportedly booked a room on the popular peer-to-peer home rental site for less than $30 a night in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. He was allegedly raped and murdered by the three men who posted the listing less than a week after meeting them online.
Craig Levy, 36, and Ryan Smart, 37, were charged with murdering Jonuzi while Jason Colton, 41, was charged with murder and raping him with an object, according to the Guardian. It’s not clear how Jonuzi died, but police say they found him in cardiac arrest and tried to revive him on the scene. The three men accused will go to court on March 22.
An Airbnb spokesperson said the company was “deeply saddened and outraged” by the incident.
“The family will have our full support and our hearts go out to them and all of his friends,” the spokesperson said. “We have removed this listing from our platform and will fully cooperate with law enforcement on their investigation. There is no place on Airbnb for such an abhorrent act, which violates everything our global community stands for.”
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of Airbnb, a service that has recently been hit with strong government regulation. Unlike hotels, Airbnb hosts don’t need to follow strict health and safety standards.
It’s not enough @Airbnb!
Your failure caused this murder. No one should feel safe using your platform if drastic measures aren’t taken. https://t.co/7vSkBXkMjl— Minem Marouf (@mattiedegalilee) October 30, 2017
Airbnb claims it conducts background checks on all hosts and guests and monitors terrorist watch lists, felony convictions, sex offender registries, and “significant misdemeanors.”
But that isn’t always enough. In July, Airbnb was hit with a lawsuit for failing to screen a host who was accused of sexual assault. The service said it cleared the host because he wasn’t convicted of a crime. He’d been arrested in 2013 for domestic violence and avoided prosecution by taking anger management courses.
In 2015, a guest in Texas was killed when the trunk of a tree he was swinging on broke in half and fell on his head. Earlier this month, an Airbnb host was arrested for using hidden cameras to spy on the “sexual activity” of his guests. A website called Airbnbhell.com chronicles people’s terrifying experiences using the service.
Airbnb recommends that guests carefully read all the reviews written about a host and make sure they have verified phone numbers, social media accounts, and references. You can find a full list of safety recommendations on Airbnb’s website.

Myths about baby sleep and SIDS, debunked by an expert
(CNN)We need more training to get a driver's license than to become a parent, in our culture. Even though we would benefit from parental education, some of us have never even held a newborn before having one of our own. And we often rely on advice from friends and family, much of it outdated or just plain wrong.
Myth 1: Your baby sleeps best in a silent room.
Myth 2: You should never wake a sleeping baby.
Myth 3: Some babies sleep worse when swaddled because they want to be free.
Myth 4: We should teach babies to sleep in their own rooms.
Myth 5: Swaddling should be stopped after two months.
Myth 6: Putting babies to sleep on the back has solved SIDS.

The Telltale Signs Your Coworkers Really Don’t Like You
Is the girl at reception ignoring you? Does your desk-mate give you the stink eye? Maybe that’s just the way his face looks. It can be hard to tell on a Monday morning.
Regardless of wether you get along with your coworkers or not, you’re likely going to spend more time with them than anyone else in your life. Unfortunately, unlike your friends, you don’t always get to choose your coworkers. It can be hard to tell how well liked you are at the office, especially in a work environment where competition is high, or ego clashes are common. Even if you work in a low stress atmosphere, you still may be wondering why you weren’t invited out for after work drinks, or why no one wanted the cookies you baked for the break room.
Here are eight tips on how to tell if your coworkers just really don’t like you:
Office Gossip
Does everyone talk in hushed tones when you’re around? Maybe they stop talking to each other all together when you show up. Offices are often breeding grounds for trash talk and if you’re hearing a lot of shushing and low voices when you walk in a room, chances are the conversation may have been about you. After all, there must be a reason your coworkers didn’t want to let you in on what was being said.
Being Ignored
If your coworkers aren’t talking about you, then not talking at all may be worse. If people don’t want to engage with you, it’s usually because they don’t like you. Either that or you need to lay off the onion bagels and tuna sandwiches. But if you’re not getting replies to emails, or even a simple ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ and the beginning and end of your day, then things do not look good. Check to see if you receive eye contact when talking to someone. If they can’t meet your gaze, there is definitely something up.
Trust Issues
Are your best ideas always given to someone else? Or perhaps your opinions are constantly shut down. International business speaker and author Michael Kerr believes this is a telltale sign that someone doesn’t like you.
“If it feels like someone shoots down every thought before you’ve even finished a sentence, then it’s often because their dislike is so strong that they are biased against anything you suggest, even when it’s a great idea.”
Always in Trouble
Are you constantly being called into the boss’s office for something you didn’t do, or find yourself being blamed for others’ mistakes? This maybe a sign that coworkers are bad-mouthing you to your superiors. Beware, if your manager is in on it, you may have a major problem on your hands.
Bad Vibes
Body language can sometimes be a bigger indicator of how someone feels toward you than what they say. If you feel like coworkers are being distant, chances are you’re right. Be on the look out for eye rolls, the absence of a smile when being greeted, and people who leave or move away from you when you enter a room.
Bad Communication
It’s not a good sign if coworkers respond to you in a condescending tone, or use as few words as possible when answering questions. It’s worse if they choose to use email correspondence when you both work in the same office. Although email is common in the workplace these days, if someone is sitting within a stone’s throw of you and still chooses to send an email rather than talk to you, it’s not good news.
Power Struggles
Do some of your coworkers act like they are your boss? If colleges act like you must answer to them even though they have no authority over you, it could mean sabotage for your career. It’s a sure sign that they might be gunning for your position, or are looking to climb the company ladder and don’t mind walking all over you to get to the top!
Instinct
If you’re reading this article, chances are you already suspected someone at the office doesn’t like you. Trust your gut, if someone is acting weird only around you then there is probably something going on. Sadly we can’t all get along, but we can still make the most of a hostile workmate by trying to be tolerant of others. Just make sure that before you report or confront a coworker who you think is acting strangely around you, make sure you’ve had a cup of coffee. After all, everything seems worse before that first cup of joe, doesn’t it? Whether your coworkers love you or hate you – remember that work isn’t everything! These lawmakers in Ukraine took things a bit too far and one of them ended up knocking the other out COLD!

The Super Mario Odysseyreviews are in and almost every single critic is in love.
Odyssey is the first open world-style Mario game since 2002's Super Mario Sunshine. It's also the first big Mario game on Nintendo's still-new Switch.
In Odyssey, Mario traverses around the world with a new companion: Cappy, the sentient hat that allows Mario to capture and control enemies, each of which has unique abilities he then absorbs.
The innovative new capture ability paired with the beautiful worlds of Odyssey, Mario's new outfits, and that unmistakable Nintendo charm captured the hearts of critics. The game, out Oct. 27, has received positive praise from just about everyone, with only a few notes of criticism.
The world:
Kotaku (Chris Kohler)
Odyssey’s levels are, down to the last little patch of terrain, breathtakingly gorgeous, intricately designed, and wildly varied. Whether you’re swimming along a cliffside beach and the reefs underneath it, crawling through the dark underbrush of a forest where a realistically rendered Tyrannosaurus rex is skulking around through the trees, or leaping through an expansive desert of rust-red sand, the levels are alluring. Come over here, they say. See what’s around this corner. Don’t go to bed. It’s not 2 AM. I had to play Odyssey on a very tight schedule for this review, but I think my play sessions would have been marathons even if I wasn’t on deadline.
Polygon(Allegra Frank)
Claims that Super Mario Odyssey is a modern, open-world entry in the series (like what The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was for Zelda) are overstated, but when I say that this game has really, really, really big levels, I mean it. Although I appreciate how the main campaign keeps Mario on a linear track, I’m more inspired by how much the game invited me to explore where and how I wanted.
The new abilities:
Waypoint (Patrick Klepek)
I don't know how Odyssey was developed, but it feels as though Nintendo's designers had a game jam, where they came up with wild and unexpected ways of interacting with a 3D Mario game. Instead of picking and choosing a few, though, they tossed all of them into a single game, coming up with a clever connective tissue—a hat capable of inhabiting objects and enemies, granting new powers—to justify their existence in the same creative stew.
USGamer (Nadia Oxford)
Super Mario Odyssey would be a top-tier Mario game even without the presence of the sweet-mannered Cappy and his ability to "capture" each level's enemies and native fauna, but exploring each Kingdom with their aid is what makes Mario Odyssey "special" rather than "excellent." There are over 50 transformations in the game, each of which let you see Mario's world through a fresh set of eyes—and let you explore Odyssey's exotic terrain with a new pair of feet. For example, a tropical Wiggler can't jump or defend itself, but its ability to stretch its body, accordion-like (appropriate sound effects included), make it a champion at nabbing coins perched in precarious places. Overall, Odyssey's capture mechanic makes exploring your surroundings a treat; even the lowliest Cheep-Cheep can dive to the bottom of deep trenches with a swift grace two-legged Mario can never hope to match.
The controls:
Polygon (Philip Kollar)
I had one single and minor frustration: the controls. Let me be clear here that the controls aren’t bad by any means, but given the sheer number of possible moves at Mario’s disposal, there’s, uh, a lot to learn. Certain complex moves can require eventually holding down three or more buttons, all pressed with perfect timing, or letting go of buttons at the right time. And most annoyingly, a few options require the use of motion controls.
If you’re playing with the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers, the motion control moves are pretty easy. But as someone who still regularly experiences desyncing problems with the Joy-Cons, I preferred using the Pro Controller or playing in handheld mode. While motion controls still work with both of those setups, they’re awkward as hell to pull off.
The size:
Giant Bomb (Dan Ryckert)
As fun and creative as these story objectives are, Super Mario Odyssey’s greatest joy lies in the exploration. Moons are everywhere in this game. Yet somehow, it manages to never feel like a collectathon. You’re not hopping around and collecting dozens of floating icons devoid of context. Moons can be hidden behind puzzles, given as rewards for foot races, discovered by a friendly dog, or gifted to you by a lonely man on a bench that’s thankful for your company. You can get them by recommending the perfect music track to a Toad, herding sheep, using binoculars to spot something interesting in the sky, or crashing through a stone wall as a T-Rex.
IGN (Ryan McCaffrey)
I expected to be able to continue playing even after the plot had been resolved, given Odyssey’s 3D sandbox structure, but I wasn’t prepared for just how much there is to do after it’s “over.” In fact, some of its finest moments follow the credits, from new unlockables that nod lovingly toward the past, to a clever new implementation of an old friend, to entire new worlds. I’m still not ready to put Odyssey down, nor do I expect to be for quite some time.

JFK Files: Thousands Released But Trump Holds Back Others
Washington (AP) -- President Donald Trump blocked the release of hundreds of records on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, bending to CIA and FBI appeals, while the National Archives came out Thursday night with a hefty cache of others.
"I have no choice," Trump said in a memo, citing "potentially irreversible harm" to national security if he were to allow all records to come out now. He placed those files under a six-month review while letting 2,800 others come out, racing a deadline to honor a law mandating their release.
The documents approved for release show federal agents madly chasing after tips, however thin, in the days after the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination and juggling rumors and leads worldwide. The materials also cast a wide net over varied activities of the Kennedy administration, such as its covert efforts to upend Fidel Castro's government in Cuba.
In a Sept. 14, 1962, meeting disclosed in the files, for example, a group of Kennedy's senior aides, including brother Robert, the attorney general, discussed a range of options against Castro's communist government.
The meeting was told the CIA would look into the possibility of sabotaging airplane parts that were to be shipped to Cuba from Canada. McGeorge Bundy, JFK's national security adviser, cautioned that sensitive ideas like sabotage would have to be considered in more detail on a case-by-case basis.
As for the unreleased documents, officials say Trump will impress upon federal agencies that "only in the rarest cases" should JFK files stay secret after the six-month review.
Despite having months to prepare for disclosures that have been set on the calendar for 25 years, Trump's decision came down to a last-minute debate with intelligence agencies — a tussle the president then prolonged by calling for still more review.
In the meantime, experts will be poring through a mountain of minutiae in search of significant revelations.
Much of Thursday passed with nothing from the White House or National Archives except silence, leaving unclear how the government would comply with a law requiring the records to come out by the end of the day — unless Trump was persuaded by intelligence agencies to hold some back.
White House officials said the FBI and CIA made the most requests within the government to withhold some information.
No blockbusters had been expected in the last trove of secret files regarding Kennedy's assassination, given a statement months ago by the Archives that it assumed the records, then under preparation, would be "tangential" to what's known about the shooting.
But for historians, it's a chance to answer lingering questions, put some unfounded conspiracy theories to rest, perhaps give life to other theories — or none of that, if the material should add little to the record.
Researchers were frustrated by the uncertainty that surrounded the release for much of the day.
"The government has had 25 years_with a known end-date_to prepare #JFKfiles for release," University of Virginia historian Larry Sabato tweeted in the afternoon. "Deadline is here. Chaos."
Trump ordered agencies that have proposed withholding material related to the assassination to report to the archivist by next March 12 on which specific information meets the standard for continued secrecy.
That standard includes details that could cause "harm to the military defense, intelligence operations, law enforcement or conduct of foreign relations," Trump wrote in his order. The archivist will have two weeks to tell Trump whether those recommendations validate keeping the withheld information a secret after April 26.
Publication of this latest trove of evidence could help allay some suspicions of conspiracy — but not for all.
"As long as the government is withholding documents like these, it's going to fuel suspicion that there is a smoking gun out there about the Kennedy assassination," said Patrick Maney, a presidential historian at Boston College.
The full record will still be kept from the public for at least six months — and longer if agencies make a persuasive enough case for continued secrecy.
The collection includes more than 3,100 records — comprising hundreds of thousands of pages — that have never been seen by the public. About 30,000 documents were released previously — with redactions.
Whatever details are released, they're not expected to give a definitive answer to a question that still lingers for some: Whether anyone other than Lee Harvey Oswald was involved in the assassination.
The Warren Commission in 1964 concluded that Oswald had been the lone gunman, and another congressional probe in 1979 found no evidence to support the theory that the CIA had been involved. But other interpretations, some more creative than others, have persisted.
The 1992 law mandating release of the JFK documents states that all the files "shall be publicly disclosed in full" within 25 years — that meant by Thursday — unless the president certified that "continued postponement is made necessary by an identifiable harm to the military defense; intelligence operations, law enforcement, or conduct of foreign relations."
That doesn't allow the president, for example, to hold some records back because they might be embarrassing to agencies or people.
"In any release of this size, there always are embarrassing details," said Douglas Brinkley, a professor at Rice University.
The law does not specify penalties for noncompliance, saying only that House and Senate committees are responsible for oversight of the collection.

9 essential self-care tips in the wake of #MeToo
After #MeToo, I’m exhausted. You probably are, too. Sharing your story can feel like you’ve let go of something really heavy and yet that empty space now feels raw and vulnerable. For many, saying #MeToo was sad, freeing, unsurprising, unifying, and draining all at once.
But for those who chose not to say #MeToo, bearing the weight of your own trauma while reading the stories of other survivors (however inspiring or articulate) can feel nothing short of damaging. Maybe you don’t feel like you can say the same because what happened to you doesn’t seem bad enough. Maybe you told your story when a previous campaign asked you to come forward, and you don’t want to again. Or maybe it’s high time for action, inclusivity, and accountability, not just another round of airing out something painful for social media. No matter how you feel, know that you don’t owe anyone your story. You don’t have a responsibility to share anything, teach anything, or fix anything.
Your trauma is not social currency, and your emotional and mental well-being is certainly allowed to be your top priority. Consider this your official reminder to log off, take a break, and check out these resources for self-care—and we don’t just mean face masks and lighting lavender candles.
Self-care ideas and resources
Along with tangible resources for survivors of trauma like hotlines, non-profit organizations, and online (or IRL) support communities, self-care means finding time to do just that: Take care of yourself. While the self-care hashtag has been popularized on Twitter, consumerized with branded self-care kits, and labeled a “millennial obsession,” that doesn’t make it any less valuable to your mental health.

1) Log off
What could you be doing if you spent less time online? Despite the fact that you can turn to the internet for cute comic relief, at some point you need to log off. Turn your phone on Do Not Disturb, close the laptop, and take some time to readjust your eyes to the light without a screen. Consider deleting specific apps like Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
If it’s not possible to delete everything due to work, school, or personal circumstances, take some time to clean out your social media feeds. Marie Kondo your internet, if you will. Does that Instagram account filled with airbrushed beach bodies and perfectly unrealistic gym butts make you feel bad inside? Unfollow it. Do you still periodically hate-stalk an abusive ex? UNFOLLOW THEM. These changes don’t have to be permanent by any means, but regulating your feeds might help you recognize the content that brings you down.
2) Create a plan
Stress and trauma can feel all-encompassing. But when you break it down and create an individualized plan, you might be able to better problem solve. According to the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI), developing a self-care plan involves identifying how stress feels to you and determining what stressors, events, or activities cause you to feel that way. From there, you can pare down smaller solutions to better cope with your stressors.
Start by identifying what makes you feel anxious—maybe it’s going to the grocery store, walking through a large crowd, or reading your Twitter feed late at night.
3) Communicate your feelings with a friend
Tell a trusted friend, family member, or co-worker about your self-care plan. Not only does this hold you accountable if you’ve set certain goals, but it gives you a support system to fall back on when taking care of your needs feels impossible. Reach out to friends you know you can text or call at a moment’s notice. Let them know they can do the same with you. Making sure the people around you know how you feel when you’re stressed helps them to better understand and support you.

4) Exercise
You’ve heard this a million times, but there’s a reason why exercise is recommended as a means to relieve stress and improve overall happiness. Daily exercise increases the production of stress-relieving hormones like serotonin, blah blah blah—OK, sure, working out still sucks. But do not fear!
Take the stairs, work a small walk into your morning routine, listen to a podcast as you run, or find a playlist that makes you want to dance. Incorporating movement into your routine doesn’t have to mean marathon runs or hitting the gym. Check out at-home workout YouTube channels like Blogilates or use free workout apps to make movement even easier.
5) Make an appointment to do something you love
If you’re super busy, have anxiety, or are prone to depression that leaves you glued to your bed, scheduling a concrete time to do something you love is a great way to stay on track. Your Google Calendar comes in handy on this one. Schedule a time to meet up with friends, finish your reading goals, or cook yourself a healthy meal. Tell yourself you have to meet this deadline just as much as you would for work or school.

6) Meditate
You’ve probably seen people posting about “mindfulness,” and wondered if it’s really for you. According to Psychology Today, mindfulness is a “state of active, open attention on the present,” which, similarly to your self-care plan, just means taking the time to check in with yourself. Focus on how you’re feeling in this moment. Practice breathing exercises (even if it sounds silly), try yoga that’s tailored to mental health, or add some mindfulness apps to your phone that help relieve stress and gently remind you to reset.

7) Write
Even if you’re not a writer, hear me out. There’s a reason people journal, blog, and write poetry in times of stress. Writing forces you to organize your thoughts—or at least purge them—in a way that is structured but also creative. Plus, when you’re writing for yourself, you don’t have to say something beautiful or relatable or spell everything correctly, and you definitely don’t have to share.
Make a bullet-point list of how you’re feeling right now, or set goals you’d like to reach in the future. Want to feel completely distracted from the present? Check out abstract writing prompts and make up a wild short story. Contribute to a Reddit forum or more private discussion to air your grievances, or join in on a fanfiction thread.
8) Get enough sleep
It seems obvious, but if you have anxiety, PTSD, or lingering trauma, getting to sleep can feel like the most difficult part of your day. Assess what it is that keeps you up at night. Make sure your space is as comfortable as possible. Though it may seem unnecessary to invest in comfortable pillows or a night light for your bedroom, small adjustments to your environment could make all the difference. What’s more, some apps can help you track your sleep and relieve anxiety in order to get you to sleep faster.
9) Don’t be afraid to ask for help
If you’re feeling chronically depressed or anxious, or you have any recurring trauma that affects your everyday life, it may be valuable to seek out therapy or use online mental health resources, including hotlines. There are always more options than you think. Here are just a few:
- Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)
- National Alliance on Mental Illness
- Safe Horizon
- Suicide Prevention Lifeline
- The Trevor Project
If you looking for a local therapist to talk to on a weekly basis, check out Psychology Today‘s therapist finder. You can filter for “sliding scale” as well as therapists based on gender, sexuality, and faith, and issues they specialize in—ranging from as broad as anxiety to as specific as infertility.

Fire Emblem: Warriors is an action-packed dose of fan service
It’s hard to believe that Fire Emblem was an obscure Nintendo franchise even as recently as four years ago. Many fans’ first exposure was the surprise inclusion of Marth and Roy in Super Smash Bros. Melee, representatives from a game that hadn’t yet been released outside of Japan. Now, the most recent Super Smash Bros. roster included six characters spanning several games, even more representation than a series like The Legend of Zelda.
Thanks to the smashing success of Fire Emblem: Awakening, the tactics-infused fantasy franchise was given new life, including remakes of forgotten favorites and a solid mobile spinoff. From new territory comes Fire Emblem: Warriors, another addition to the expansive Dynasty Warriors profile. Zelda was recently given this treatment in Hyrule Warriors, a bombastic celebration of the series’ long legacy.
For the uninitiated, this franchise from acclaimed Japanese developers Omega Force is one of the proven standards of the hack-and-slash genre. What originally started as a dramatization of Chinese history has grown to encompass fantastical elements and exaggerated fanservice in its characters. Each warrior offers new weapons and mystic powers to play with, but for the most part, gameplay remains the same as the player pushes through massive crowds of enemies to capture objectives and tackle high-level targets.
In many ways, Fire Emblem is a perfect match for this “Musou” style. Each installment in the main series brings a new selection of fighters with their own quirks and stylish flourishes. The franchise now features a massive amount of vibrant, memorable characters, so much so that the final roster can’t feel like a disappointment when looking at any specific omissions. And while most of the characters come from recent installments like Awakening and Fates, there are a few crowd-pleasing surprises from titles like Shadow Dragon to pad out the final number here.
As with any character-based fighting game, Fire Emblem: Warriors already features extensive plans for add-ons. A Season Pass is offered, including new scenarios, characters and costumes well through 2018. The content currently offered isn’t severely lacking in any regard, but it’s important to note that the game will continue to grow and change for those who opt to buy in.
The cast is the main draw of Fire Emblem: Warriors; to watch them interact and to learn their intricacies on the battlefield. Set in the new kingdom of Aytolis, Warriors introduces a pair of royal characters to serve as the player’s main avatar. Having this brief introduction into the wacky main plot of crossovers and time travel helps ground the game as much as possible, but the story is borderline nonsensical. Still, meeting heroes and villains from different corners of the Fire Emblem world is played with a whimsical tone that should entertain even the most casual fan.
Likewise, each warrior plays in a different way, some more subtly than others. Sword users can traverse the battlefield at a brisk pace, while horse-riders are better for clearing out forts and outposts with efficiency. Deployment gets even more interesting when Pegasus and Wyvern riders are introduced to the cast, who can fly over throngs of enemies as well as certain obstacles on the map. You’ll need to acclimate yourself to switching between characters rapidly on the fly to meet all the given and optional objectives in a mission, especially on higher difficulties.
Thanks to the prevalence of spellcasters and mounted units, Fire Emblem: Warriors feels like one of the most gameplay-diverse entries to bear the Warriors’ moniker. While there is a traditional variety in the stats and effects of individual weapons offered, it helps that you aren’t always switching back and forth between sword wielders, axe users, or spear bearers.
But Dynasty Warriors games never escape repetition. This is a fairly niche franchise for a reason, as combat can often be a mindless grind. You have very few basic attacks at your disposal no matter what class you play as, with a number of combos and special moves to unleash over time. You can’t shake the feeling that the game could play itself after fighting through thousands of enemies in a single match. Fire Emblem: Warriors tries to circumvent this problem as much as possible, with varied objectives and maps that can be influenced by player strategy.
The overall structure of the game also features many Fire Emblem-inspired twists. You can enable a permadeath mode that requires careful maintenance of each unit during battle or they won’t return after falling. Individual units can also pair up and support each other, which opens the possibility for new dialogue and special items to upgrade their abilities.
Your exposure to either franchise should determine whether or not you’ll enjoy this title. It plays as a great mix of both, though lacking some of the tactical strategy of a Fire Emblem title. Warriors is a strong addition to the Nintendo Switch’s library of action games, though it suffers a few technical issues in handheld mode. The thick of a battle can be frantic and stressful on the player and the console, but never too much to ruin an exciting, fast-paced experience.
Fire Emblem Warriors is available now on Nintendo Switch and New 3DS.
Score: 3.5/5
Disclosure: A copy of Fire Emblem Warriors on Nintendo Switch was provided by Nintendo for this review.

Study Confirms People Who Use Facebook Are Unhappier Than Those Who Don’t – Viral Thread
Just about everyone has a Facebook account these days. However, a new study may have proven that the few of us who don’t engage with the social media giant just might be better off. It turns out, Facebook may have a negative impact on our well being.
Data from 2016 shows that the average user spends approximately 50 minutes on Facebook a day. I think it’s safe to say many of us log in for a lot longer. According to the study, the more we use it, the more Facebook makes us unhappy. The research was conducted by Holly B. Shakya of the University of California and Nicholas A. Christakis of Yale University. Although previous studies on social media and harm have had similar findings, they were either limited in scope or focused on multiple social media sites rather than only on Facebook.
This is also the first study to focus on quantity of time spent on social media, rather than solely on quality of time, which contributes to a decreased report in ‘happiness’. For this study, 5,208 subjects were recruited in three groups (2013, 2014, and 2015), and each wave’s Facebook activity was monitored for a period of two years. The study confirmed a decrease in well-being the more one used the platform. Simple actions on Facebook such as clicking a link, updating your status, or clicking ‘like’, were, on average, associated with a decrease of five to eight percent in mental health well-being.
Other information taken directly from users’ accounts was also taken into consideration such as time spent online, number of friends, and how often a user reacted to a post. Researches Shakya and Christakis explained that to calculate well-being they measured self reported mental health and self reported physical health. They were able to link specific activities to the decrease in ‘happiness’. “We found consistently that both liking others’ content and clicking links significantly predicted a subsequent reduction in self-reported physical health, mental health, and life satisfaction.” The study also claims that there is a tradeoff between online and offline interaction, with the negative effects of online use being comparable to the benefits of offline interactions.
The study revealed that the greatest danger of excessive Facebook use occured when users believed they were engaging in human interaction, when in reality they were not receiving the same kinds of benefits as from face to face encounters. This may be because an online presence can be carefully controlled by its user, presenting a ‘happier’ version of him or herself online, which only proves to make others feel inadequate. How many times did it take for you to capture the perfect profile picture? Did you retouch it? Have you posted about all the good things that have happened to you and none of the bad things?
Previous studies have shown that depression can be alleviated from spending face to face time with other people. The greatest effect was from recieving human touch, such as getting a hug or a friendly touch on the shoulder. The effect was still present in phone conversations, but disappeared when subjects only texted with each other. Similar to when on Facebook, the benefits of social interaction do not seem to be present when interacted only through text.
Do these findings make you want to spend less time logged in to your Facebook account? Perhaps instead of posting another silly selfie, maybe reach out and call a friend, or perhaps even give someone a hug. It might be good for your mental health! But, if you’re a bona fide social media addict, here are some top tips from a “social media expert” to help you stand out and get seen:

MashTalk: How to punish companies for poor cybersecurity
Another day, another data breach.
That would definitely be an apt catch phrase for 2017, with major, high-profile hacks or breaches coming with disturbing regularity. Equifax and HBO were all hit hard, and the WannaCry ransomware crippled infrastructure around the globe. Even Instagram wasn't spared.
With every breach, another refrain is typically heard: That it was preventable. If only the people in charge had invested more in cybersecurity, or updated their systems, or simply weren't incompetent, then the hack never would have happened. Yet those same people often face little or no direct consequences.
Some people want to change that. One of them is Todd Thibodeaux, CEO of CompTIA, a technology association that promotes standards and helps guide the IT industry. Thibodeaux thinks, when it comes to poor network security, accountability for private companies needs to happen at the highest level: the board of directors.
Joining the MashTalk podcast, Thibodeaux goes into detail how such an approach would work and shares his thoughts on why it feels like breaches and hacking — especially ransomware — have taken a sharp rise. He also takes a minute to clarify that there actually is a framework for cybersecurity standards that any company can use, but clearly not nearly enough do.

How ‘Sesame Street’ can help children cope with traumatic experiences
(CNN)Big Bird is upset. Angry, sad, confused, anxious. "I've got all these feelings, you know ... and they're all mixed together," he tells Alan the shop owner in a new "Sesame Street" video. "And I -- I don't know what to do."
- Reassure kids that they are loved and supported.
- Listen to children's feelings and avoid dismissive phrases such as "It's no big deal" or "Don't worry about that."
- Allow children to express themselves through talking, drawing or writing about their feelings and experiences.
- It is OK to say "I don't know." Parents should be honest with children when not certain about why something has happened but then offer support.

Bella Hadid goes sneaker shopping spree and it’s one hell of a ride
Words of advice: never take sneakers tips from supermodel Bella Hadid.
In a cringe-worthy sneaker shopping trip with Complex's Joe La Puma, Hadid explained the dos and don'ts of wearing kicks. It was, predictably, pretty awkward— almost as if she googled "slang words" ahead of her interview.
A little sampling:
La Puma: What are some of your sneaker turn-offs, though?
Hadid: You know what, I'm cool with it, and I don't mind dirty sneakers, but they better be fresh. If homeboy's coming through with these, it's quiet...for him. But, like, if he comes through in, like, these...homeboy's gonna, like, get it.

Naturally, the Twitterverse turned Hadid's awkward wording into a very good meme:

Malala turns to Twitter for college advice and packing tips
Malala Yousafzai is off to college and asked for packing help this weekend.
The 20-year-old activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner will attend Oxford University this year as a freshman studying philosophy, politics, and economics. Yousafzai, a staunch advocate for global education, turned to Twitter on Saturday morning to ask her followers for their best packing advice.

"Packing for university," she wrote on Twitter. "Any tips? Advice? Dos and dont's?"

Others gave Malala advice on things to improve dorm life, like flip flops for the shower and adhesives for dorm room walls.

The good people of Twitter suggested Malala make sure she has a sturdy backpack and...toilet paper.

While some people told Malala to overpack, others told her to pack light, which confused the incoming freshman a bit.

Will Ferrell is becoming a pro gamer…in upcoming esports film
Will Ferrell is here to remind you that technology can be terrible.
A new PSA campaign, produced by Common Sense Media, features the Emmy-winning comedic actor being unable to put down his phone and making his family's attempt at "device-free dinner" incredibly awkward.
SEE ALSO: Santa Claus is dead as hell
The campaign was released in tandem with the San-Francisco-based nonprofit's most recent media use census.
The report found that that children 8 years old and under spend a whopping 48 minutes a day staring at a mobile screen. It also found that 42 percent of children now own their own tablets.
Both of these figures show a stark increase from previous years. These hilarious yet somber ads show us that maybe we should be, uh, doing something about this.
Common Sense Media hopes these ads will encourage families to have device-free dinners of their own.
The organization's website contains tips to plan a successful device-free dinner. For example: Establish consequences if your kids are using their phones too much. And maybe don't invite Will Ferrell over.

The best free porn sites when you’re horny and on the go
If you visit free porn sites, you’ve probably watched it on your phone at some point or another. As smartphones become better and better media devices, the private computer in your pocket has become the tool of choice for most porn viewers. According to Pornhub’s 2016 annual report, 61 percent of its traffic was made up of smartphone users, with an additional 11 percent coming from tablet users. Only a fourth of Pornhub’s audience was actually watching on a desktop computer.
When it comes to adult content, the future is mobile porn. But just because you’ve watched free mobile porn before doesn’t, that mean you’ve done it right. Here’s our guide to taking in porn mobile as like an adult.
The best free mobile porn sites
After an exhaustive amount of research, we have compiled the five best sites for mobile porn viewing. This is by no means a scientific list, but each of these options provides its own unique charms and user experience.
1. Pornhub
Pornhub isn’t dumb. It knows how people are viewing its site, and its mobile experience is incredible. The site has been optimized for smartphones, giving users all the navigation options they’ve come to love in a neat, uncluttered package. There’s also Pornhub Premium if you’re a subscriber, and PornhubLive if you’re a fan of cam girls.
Dropdown menus make navigating to your favorite section of the site a breeze, whether that’s MILF videos or Pornhub’s Sexual Wellness Center. Attention to detail is part of what’s made Pornhub the biggest adult site in the world.
Android users will have a great experience on the site’s mobile page, but they can also download Pornhub’s app right here. The app is incredible, with built-in password protection, infinite scrolling, and the ability to combine categories while looking for content. No matter how you choose to view, Pornhub is the leader in mobile adult content at the moment.
2. Reddit iOS Android
Don’t want to use your browser but still want the world of internet pornography laid out at your feet? There’s no better resource than Reddit. Both Android and iOS have apps that not only unlock NSFW Reddit—one of the most extensive collections of amateur porn in the world—but also support multiple accounts, video, and photos. If you’re going to use the Reddit app to get your jollies off, we suggest creating a secondary account just for your porn viewing. That way you don’t someday accidentally upvote “(CENSORED NAME OF A PORN VIDEO BUT OH BOY TRUST US IT’S A GRAPHIC DOOZY)” on the account all your friends know about. (If you need a place to start with Reddit porn, this guide will get you started.)
3. Tumblr iOS Android
There was a period when finding porn on Tumblr was a nightmare, thanks to Yahoo’s distaste for adult content. Thankfully, those days are long gone. You’ll still have to do some tinkering to fully unlock the Tumblr app’s potential, but it’s now a viable option for free mobile porn videos. Porn on Tumblr is similar to Reddit, just with more chaos and searching. Deep fandom communities have built up around various kinks and fetishes, with users creating plenty of custom content to go with the GIFs, videos, and erotic stories. Curious about what Tumblr has to offer? Here’s a guide to Tumblr porn.

4. Literotica Android
One of the best ways to make sure no one finds the porn on your phone is to keep pornographic images off your device in the first place. That’s why Literotica is such a great option. With 250,000-plus erotic stories from every conceivable angle (and some that are frankly inconceivable), there’s always something here to tickle your fancy. Android users can download Literotica’s app to browse their favorites. While there’s not an iOS counterpart, because Apple is a killjoy, Literotica’s mobile site is optimized for iPhones. It’s not as snappy as the Android app, but the mobile site is still a glorious way to experience the best free erotica online.
5. BetterFap
With all due respect to Pornhub, BetterFap is the best porn option for mobile phone users. Billed as the “Pandora of porn,” BetterFap’s site is optimized for swiping, making it the rare porn site that’s better on a phone than it is a computer browser. Here’s how it works: When you go to BetterFap, you either sign in or use the site as a guest. Users select if they’re straight, gay, or more. If you select more, the site asks you for your gender preferences and goes from there.
Once you’re ready, BetterFap presents you with a series of videos, GIFs, photos, and clips. If you like it swipe right if you don’t swipe left. As you swipe, the site gets a better view of what makes your engine hum, ensuring a better experience each time you use it. Drawing its content from a wide array of porn sites and Tumblr blogs, BetterFap puts the world of amateur porn in your hand without ever needing to search.
How to watch free mobile porn
Now that you know where you want to start, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind. Because we use our phones for everything these days, from sending email to playing music at parties, it’s essential to guard yourself against accidental embarrassment, not to mention viruses. Here are some best practices for watching mobile porn.
1. Use a private browser
Have you ever been pulling up a website on your computer while someone watches only to have “Pornhub” autofill in the address bar? It’s a nightmare that was all too common until the introduction of private browsing. You can spare yourself the same embarrassment by using a smartphone browser with an incognito or private browsing mode. In our tests, Chrome worked better than Firefox, but both apps provide secure private browser modes that will forget about what you were doing as soon as you close the app. Don’t risk it. Use a private browser.
2. Use a VPN
While private browsers can protect you from people you know seeing your kinks, a VPN helps keep anyone else from see your browsing history. Planning to have a little personal time on your phone while using a hotel Wi-Fi? You’re going to want to use some protection. We recommend VPN Unlimited. With a $29-lifetime license that covers your smartphone and computer, you really can’t beat the cost. This is a lightweight way to make sure your privacy is protected when you’re sharing a Wi-Fi signal with folks you might not know.
3. Get a screen protector
This is self-explanatory. If you have a waterproof case, make sure to wash your hands and handset when you’re done. Other people are going to touch your phone. A screen protector makes it easy to keep clean.

4. Don’t download anything
With the exception of site-specific apps, like those mentioned above, if an app looks too good to be true, it probably is. The Android store is littered with poorly designed apps promising the world but mostly delivering a handful of pictures at best and viruses at worst. Also, don’t get a false sense of security from using iOS; mobile viruses exist for the Apple ecosystem, too. Don’t download anything, and beware of sites that give you pop-ups.

5. Get some earbuds
Years of sneaking around on computers have taught you to watch porn with the sound off. But it’s so much better when you can actually hear what’s going on. Throw in some earbuds and make the most of the experience. Or maybe just use one earbud… That way you still won’t be caught off guard.
